Standing on the edge of a cliff overlooking the dilapidated land
I dwelled mere hours prior, I watch the mountains crumble as they put out widespread fire.
The ground below me is weakening with every passing second,
and I, the sole survivor, terminate myself to lay among the wreckage.
I send myself to another realm where light is no longer,
and death will finally have his calloused hands on us all.
That of which calls to me...the ecstasy of death
By my own way, alone and blissful, take my final breath.
I die upon my throne, gunshot ringing through my bones,
Fall to the dirt, and in my final seconds savor the poisonous air.
Destroyed the structures and monuments
No atonement for our violence
A social structure of decadence
Buried along with the evidence
I hear the sound, a vociferous burst of debris deafens all in its range
A blowing smog of dust blankets the earth, the soil now infused with my brains
The skull of the Phoenix has been crushed and splintered.
A once green landscape now left dead and withered underneath a decaying sun.
Five hundred seconds remain, but
My eyes shall not witness the decay
I have been spared from the horror
Of viewing the rot on this final day

This is probably the most melodic Death Metal album I've ever heard. Not really in the Melo-Death sense tho. It follows more progressive and technical flavors with its riffs and leads. But the riffs are often big and memorable as well as the solo's. There is just as much melody and bending as any shred therein. One of the most memorable Death Metal albums of all time! They've crafted all the parts in equal measure for a complete and exciting Metal work. Salami Dick Death
